Meet Author A.C. Wonderland

​A.C. Wonderland has always loved telling stories for as long as she can remember.

When she was eight, she wrote and drew an entire twenty-page book for school… even though the assignment was to write one page.​ 

A.C. never thought she would be an author. But in July 2024, her first book came pouring out of her. 

When she’s not writing, A.C. loves traveling the country, frequenting country music concerts, and, of course, going to hockey games.

She lives in Nashville with her dog, Guinness, but is originally from the suburbs of Chicago.

Meet A.C. Wonderland:

If you could be friends with one character in your debut novel, who would it be? Why?

This is so hard... I think I have to say Lucas, even though part of me wants to say Tyler or Bren. Lucas is just the definition of a good human. He's a golden retriever MMC that makes me question why I love morally grey MMCs. (But I would 100% want to date him so Laur, the FMC, would hate me!)

If you could live in any fictional town, city, or world what would it be?

I've thought a lot about Harry Potter and Velaris... but Velaris wins every time.

What would you tell your younger self not to care about? Don't care about where you are "supposed to be" in life or compare yourself to where other people are.

Everyone has a different path in life. Try to embrace yours instead of questioning it.

You’re a new character in the town you’re currently writing, who do you meet first, and how do they react to you? (How do you react to them?)

I want to meet Blaine Mitchell first. I think he'd use some stupid pick-up line, I would call him out on it, and steal his hat, which is always backwards on his head. And tell him to get over himself.

Then we'd become best friends, I'd have a crush on him, and he would be the eff boy that "I swear I can change." But Laur would console me when I inevitably realize he needs to change on his own.

(No, this is not a plot for the next book lol this is just me dreaming).

If your core main characters could say one thing about you, what do you think (or hope) they would say?

Laur would tell me to keep chasing my dreams and never lose sight of my "one shot" at becoming an author no matter what obstacles might come my way. She would be proud of how far I've already come in my short author journey so far!

What do you do to unwind from stress?

HITT bootcamp or reading a physical book with a tasty mocktail or wine and puppy cuddles

Do you have any words/tropes you won’t write in your genre? 

I will never say never, but a true office romance or secret royalty are likely not in the cards.

What’s your favorite board game? Cards? Group activity?

I LOVE game nights! Clue is my favorite board game, but I won't lie, I am a sore loser if I don't win Clue. I also love Code Names or any type of game similar to Cards Against Humanity.
