Milla has always loved writing, reading, movies, and TV shows, but it was Twilight that solidified her dream of becoming an author in 2009.
Milla lives in Sweden, but she writes in English, since she has many international friends on her fan page, Bloodyheroesandlegends.
Something that made her write fanfics about Oliver Queen & Barry Allen from Arrow & The Flash in 2020.
In 2021, Milla became unemployed after finishing university. To cope with the anxiety, she began writing a story in January 2022 that would eventually become her debut novel. The WIP was loosely inspired by her latest fanfic, where Oliver Queen was a werewolf prince and Barry Allen a damaged vampire. This October, Milla intends to publish her paranormal romance called “The Nightworld Chronicles—Bonded by Darkness.”
It’s the first book in a planned trilogy that revolves around the werewolf prince Connor Moon and the rebellious vampire Kieran Vorrigan.
Meet Mila Limblossom
If you could be friends with one character in your debut novel, who would it be? Why?
The characters I relate to the most are the Werewolf Princess, Luna, and the Witch
Princess Esmeralda, so probably one of them, since they’re both badass and loyal to
have on your side.
What’s your favorite genre?
Romantasy/paranormal romance.
I just love the combination of romance and
supernatural beings.
What’s one piece of advice you wish you’d known when you first started writing?
How to show instead of telling, because I still struggle with that, because I’ve spent so
many years writing objectively in journalism and linguistics, so I tend to tell a lot.
I also set out to write like an omniscient narrator for the first draft in 2022, but it was
very tough to maintain that, so I switched to third-person limited with a dual POV.
What would you tell your younger self not to care about?
I would say “stop listening to what other people think you should do or who you
should be.” I spent too many years listening to people calling writing a hobby and that
being an author isn’t a real job.
What is something that you’ve learned and grown from over the last year?
In 2024, I created a separate account to discuss my writing, since I only mentioned
my book occasionally on my big fan page.
The community I found with other writers really made me grow more confident. I also got in touch with a wonderful writing coach who helps me stay motivated too.
Do you have any words/tropes you won’t write in your genre?
I would never glorify toxic relationships, which sadly happen occasionally when vampires are involved. I also decided to skip the traditional slow-burn/enemies-to-lovers trope for my main werewolf and my main vampire.
I wanted them to have a forbidden love story with Romeo & Juliet vibes, so it’s their respective people who are enemies, not Connor and Kieran themselves.
