If you could be friends with one character in your debut novel, who would it be? Why? 

My side character, Charlotte, is just my favorite and a really true friend. What is your favorite food? 

In food or literature, I like it spicy. Indian food, extra flavor, extra spice. 

What’s your favorite genre? 

Fantasy!!!! Anything fantasy 

What’s one piece of advice you wish you’d known when you first started writing? 

Write the book that you would want to read. The single best piece of advice I have come across. 

What was your first piece? (If you’re comfortable, tell us a little about it.) 

I wrote elaborate stories set in the fantasy worlds I already knew. As in, what would have happened if the story had unfolded differently for books I really loved. For the Drizzt books, Protector of the Small, and LOTR, as a few examples.

I would get to chapter five-ish and lose steam, but it was still fun to write. 

What are some helpful tips you would give a fellow writer who’s having a hard time plotting, developing, etc.? 

Community, get a writing friend or two it makes a big difference. Take the time to learn proper grammar and dialogue punctuation the best you can. Make the world and characters first and give every character a reason to be in the story.

Then you can somewhat follow the characters, and the dialogue will write itself. I think everyone needs a heavy developmental edit and overhaul, and a couple of them for a fantasy book. Fantasy, by nature, has a lot of plot holes to explain an unreal thing in a way that feels real, so don't get discouraged if someone finds a plot hole.
